These films do not have any voice to offer. It is only the actions and muted gestures through which the dialogues are transmitted. Before the 1920s, all the movies that were made were in silent mode. Those days, the technology for audio was not developed and hence, movies were made using only gestures.

Silent movies are often made in black and white mainly because such movies were made during the early 1900s. There are still few silent movies made today. There are people who still love watching silent movies which are completely different from the sound and action packed movies that we see of today. But now, these movies have become stale, arch and alien, as most youngsters and adults alike prefer watching movies with sound effects.

One should also be able to choose a topic they personally relate with very well.Not only is it easier to work on something you have personal experience,it gives you an advantage because instead of viewing things ideally you are able to have an objective view.To be one of the most creative film makers you also have to sacrifice time and energy to come out with something relevant.

In this film system, the entertainment of audience is given through silent actions, gestures, and titles. Movies with recorded sound is almost as old as movie itself, but because of the challenge of silent dialogue system and complex difficulties engaged, synchronized dialogue for silent film, was practically made in the late 1920s, with the excellence of audio amplifier tube and the inauguration of Vitaphone System.

In 1927, following the release of silent film “The Jazz Singer,” “talkies” became more and more popular. Within a several years, popular production of silent films was ceased for various reasons. Nevertheless, there is a popular myth that these silent films were old fashioned and hardly watch-able by modern expectations. This myth comes because they are being replayed back at a wrong speed and their damaged condition. There are many silent films are still available yet, only in second- or third-generation duplicates, which often ripped from already broken and deserted film stock.
